I am looking at customizing my hurricane. My friend is parting out a magna v65, and I was wondering if using his speedo and dashboard is feasible, or likely to be a huge pita. If it isn't too much trouble, I would like to try something cheap before ordering a koso or trail tech unit, and chrome gauges just might look better.

 

It's probably feasible. It depends on how the 2 bikes read speed and rev's. I bet that all of the dummy lights are pretty similar. How high does the magna rev compared to the 'cane?


It all depends. Have you seen the gauges in person? I would think they're pretty big comparatively even though they're nice analog gauges.

 

I'm sure the v65 red lines around 10 or 11k, i would just not hook a tachometer up, but put it in for show until I found a more appropriate unit. Not sure if the speedo cable on the v65 works off the transmission, or the front tire. I'm not sure which way I hope it works.
