ya, it is a lot. but... also look at KOSO gauges too. i'm sure you could get something similar for cheap too.

KOSO has some okay stuff, but nothing that has really clicked with me. I'm looking at putting this:

Tachometer Speedo Gauge 0-15000 SPC-S150

it's a analog tach with digital speedo readout. At the moment, I'm tossing the idea around of putting that unit into an older BMW R75 headlight bucket (see pic of R75 headlight bucket and Triumph gauge a guy used on a Triumph cafe bike). The BMW headlight is a 7" bucket which would let me run the Harley HID bi-xenon conversion. I don't know.... still looking.... (google search = free)
