Default 96 CBR Streetfighter build

Picked this up Fall of 2103 for $500 delivered, not running, 31k on the clock. I've decided, through careful research on here and on the inter-webs on how to tackle this project. Got it started last week, but it will need maintenance things done first before it is road worthy.

- new plugs
- new carb rings
- new fuel filter
- new air filter
- new oil filter
- new chain and sprockets (front and rear)
- carb sync
- new front fork seals
- new hand controls
- new battery
- refinish wheels
- modify cluster mount
- wind jammer
- new paint

For the body I'm leaning towards an F4i tail swap and seat. And for the headlight a Honda Ruckus dual circle. I will post pics when I get my parts in.

Here is my starting point:

Got it started and waiting on parts. Replaced fork seals and while the wheels are off, replacing the wheel bearings and brake pads. On to painting the wheels gold or bronze:

Thanks for the positive words. This project has been slow going. Got the wheel bearings in and wheels painted for now.

The CBR headlight fairing is pretty much done and I picked up this Ruckus headlight for cheap. Thinking of using it on the CBR:

You should hold it up to the forks and take a pic. I'm curious to see what Ruk lights look like compared to something similar like Buell lights.

Thanks for the good words. Too many projects and money going out to other projects. I've been working on two cars (old VW and Integra) and this bike at the same time. I should have more things done in a couple of weeks.

Just got this 03 CBR RR tail, tail light, and seat cowl. Not bad for $75 shipped to my office. Still waiting on a deal for a 03-04 RR seat.

I will mock up the tail and ruck light if I have time this weekend.
