92/93 CBR 600 F2 Streetfighter Build (in progress)
Here is where my love and hate for F2's started. I purchased this bike in Feb of 2014. My 05 Ninja 250 motor had seized and i wanted another bike, Specifically a CBR. However where i lived, it was very hard to find cheap bikes even in the dead of the winter. I talked to a few guys selling 600rr's and F4i's but they were asking $4,000+. I found two CBR's that were in my price range. A 96 F3 and this 92 F2. The F3 was $2,200 and the F2 was $2,500. The F3 seller never responded to my emails and calls, so i decided to go check out the F2. The guy selling the F2 told me he had multiple buyers but immediately dropped the price to $2,000 with me even asking. I told him i had to wait until payday to pay him and i really wanted the bike. So i did what nooone should ever do....i gave him a $500 deposit to hold the bike and remove it from craigslist, with me only getting a handwritten receipt in return. Luckily 3 days later i got paid and took the bus over to him, paid it off and left, no problems. The day after i bought the F2, the F3 guy called me and aked if i still wanted his bike (1 month since the last i've called him) i told him i had purchased another bike.

All was well with the bike until one day. On my way to work i decide to give it the beans. I have no tach and the koso speedo had since died. Pounding through the gears i hit 3rd and instead of redlining, it kept going till *bang* oil pissing all over the highway and smoking like hell,i kept pushing that poor Honda till the motor went. Turns out it made it a mile under it's own power with a thrown connecting rod, found later after i pushed my bike the rest of the way to work and check it out on my lunch break. It's hard to see but if you look behind the starter motor there is a huge hole in the block.
here is a piece of what used to be the connecting rod bearing that shot out of the block.

So the breakdown begins, since the state i lived in didn't require titles for bike over 20 years old, the frame was worth nothing and i couldn't pay anyone to take it off my hands.
So the busted engine and all the parts off the bike sat in my bedroom as i tried to sell everything on ebay, as i knew i was moving soon and couldn't take two whole bikes with me.
