x2. That would make my 'frame only' f3 look a lot less goofy

If I had to make a bobber, that is how I'd try to make it look!

i'm back! winter is coming soon here in colorado which means my f3 is soon going back into the shop for more work. this winter i am going to take care of that bulky boxy mess under my seat and my harness is going under major surgery to shorten it. i want the seat to stick out from the tank and have an undertail exhaust be the only thing under it. i just ordered a cbr 600rr front seat that i think will have a better smaller profile. just ordered cb4 4fi gauges and a israeli m15 military gas mask that i am going to mount over my round headlamp lots of pictures to come soon. time to blow the dust off the die grinder and wire stripper

i have been using this thread over at custom fighters for ideas:

here is the gas mask thats in the mail right now:

please post up your good ideas!!!!!!!!

so what kind of lights are you putting in that mask?

are you going to run the air filter on the mask?

it'd be pretty sweet if you could put HIDs under the mask, then wire the horn up where the pod filter would go.

as far as getting rid of the clutter, there should be "some" room under the tank for some of that harness. i'd keep the R/R under the see though for sure.

i plan on using my current aztec8 headlight assembly and strapping the headlight onto it. i am not going to run the air filter on the mask. i plan on strapping the mask onto my headlamp using the straps that would normally wrap around your head. i think the filter will be too much weight for this set up so i am going to leave it out. i do like the idea of HID's and might convert over to those later in the winter but the headlight is not my biggest priority right now. for all that clutter i am planning on putting a lot of it under the tank. i have already moved my r/r onto a portion of the frame in front so that it will get lots of nice cool air flow across it (painted it black to match the frame and does not look toooooo bad). i also plan on using a ballistic lithium racing battery to free up some room for the wire harness. i really just need to get my seat and sub frame made so that i can figure out a new mounting tray for the lithium battery and see how much room i have to work with.............

yes, i bought some black semi gloss engine enamel from napa and sprayed it with that, seems to be holding up well so far.

UPDATE: decided that i will be cutting out the f3 subframe and mounting a CBR 1000RR subframe and front seat, then cutting the passenger seat and tail section off the subframe to maintain the bobber style. bummer cause i decided this the same day i got the 600RR front seat in the mail. should look pretty good i think. gas mask should be here in a few days. will post pictures once it is mounted!
