Kannapolis here, so once I get a bit more acquainted with my bike I'll be up for some riding wherever.

Oh awesome. I've lived here since I was 13 but always lived in the areas surrounding Charlotte, not counting my time in the Navy from 99-03. It's a nice quiet area and I like it here. Maybe later on sometime, if you are coming across to ride the BRP we can meet up and continue on to it from here.

I think it's about an hour and a half, maybe 2 hours from me. It's been a while since I did any traveling up that way so I'm not entirely sure.

Yea, but it'd make a hell of a weekend trip. I'm not opposed to camping for that matter. That's what I did last time I rode Deal's Gap. On that note, the last time I rode Deal's Gap, it wasn't as fun as the first time I rode. Safer maybe because of the speed limit changes, but definitely not as much of an adrenaline rush. Almost not worth the bother anymore other than being able to say you rode it. I did hear of a place called "The Devil's Staircase" recently or something to that effect. It's supposed to be off the parkway and riddled with hairpins and cutbacks. I'm not sure that I have the experience back on a bike yet to ride that but it's something I wanna look into for next year.

You are talking about The Devils Whip. It is NC hwy 80 outside of Pleasant Gardens. It is not a high speed road because of the hairpins but it is a lot more fun than Deals gap. Not near the traffic either. Or cops. Great place to go and I am 45 minutes from it. Whenever you are ready to hit it let me know.
