Default Blueridge Parkway ride

Hey everyone, a buddy and I from work are planning a road trip in about a week. Taking a Friday off, hehe. Our plans are to ride a part of the Blueridge Parkway from Little Switzerland, NC to Blowing Rock, NC, I know there's better roads around which we plan on taking to get there (ie Old 18, 226, 181 etc) He's always wanted to ride the Blueridge Parkway and I've never been on it even considering I live an hour from it lol. He's riding a Suzuki Blvd cruiser and asked if we could ride together and I told him I don't have a problem with that at all (I know the Harley guys at work blow him off b/c of his bike) I don't have anything against Harley's but I think we should all be one motorcycle community because we all enjoy to ride and I explained to him I'm a motorcycle enthusiast and not a one day warrior and I'll ride with anyone safe and sensible (which he is.) Anyways I was wondering if anyone had any tips, places to eat, places to stop or anything along those lines.

Deals gap/ the dragons tail isn't to far from there, I just back from there a few weeks ago. It's awesome we go down there every year, Aubrey's is really good it's in merryville. Search for the tail of the dragon online there's a Website they got some good roads destinations like the cherohala skyway, moonshiner 28, Devil's Triangle and others. We stay in cabins in Townsend Tennessee and grill out most of the time so don't know a lot of places to eat except aubreys. We did the blue ridge skyway too this last time it would be awesome in nice weather but it was rainy and 38 degrees up there when we went
