The Bike was a CBR250RR they were sold here in Australia from Honda after sh*t loads of them were sold back door as grey imports.
They were/are the bike to have if you are on your learners or P plates here in Australia but they are getting a little long in the tooth now hard to find one that hasn't been flogged by young riders.

Reminds me of a buddy of mine in Highschool - his dad was a radiologist, and had a Ferrari 328 as his weekend toy. My buddy was gonna crank it up and let everyone hear the motor (We were like 13-14 at the time) and didn't notice it was in reverse when he let the clutch out. Driver's door was open and dragged down the wall before wedging between the car and the wall. Required a new door and glass. On a Ferarri. Not a cheap fix.
