I am so amazed that the government has conditioned people to forget how to be free thinkers. Its only black or white if the government tells you? Sad....

If people that work for the IRS can not, of course this guy can't prove anything about Income Tax.

telgren, the things you have mentioned, we are already being taxed on and it doesn't come out of the income tax??? I don't like supporting government schools, but the government does not give me a choice. If so I would keep my money and send my kids to private school (I currentlyhave no kids).

I am not spoiled, my forefather paid with there blood!

OK wasnt going to rip into anyone on this but here we go...

One do not give me the line I am not spoiled, my forefather paid with their blood. If you are going to use the line at least spell it corrrectly: "I am not spoiled, my fore-fathers paid with their blood" (your inteligence appears decreased with a put-down that is jacked up).

I also spend three years in the US Army, along with my father, and grandfather. I have seen people die, and help others from dying. I have lost many good friends from the current war in Iraq. So please spare me the line about heart-ache and bloodshed.

Income taxes are paid to the government for the united states to function as a whole. You say that income taxes do not go towards roads? I bet you live near an interstate or have driven on one. Income tax at work. You seem to forget that the funds that you pay in, are used for many different purposes. Yes they pay congress's salary, provide defense funding, and things like the EPA.

The money that is paid in is more often than not put out in transfer payments, payments that go to things like your local government. Public sector spending accounted for 18.9% of the GDP, so yes your money does go to your local roads, it pays for the potholes, it pays for lightpoles. With respect to total government spending, state and local government spending accounted for 63% of ALL FUNDS.

You ask for specifics laws regulating to this:

Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 of the United States Constitution (the "Taxing and Spending Clause"), specifies Congress's power to impose "Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises," but Article I, Section 9 requires that, "Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States."

In response, Congress proposed the Sixteenth Amendment (ratified by the requisite number of states in 1913), which states:

[blockquote]

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
[/blockquote]
from wikipedia.org
Tax rates may be progressive, regressive, or flat. A progressive tax taxes differentially based on how much has been earned. For example, the first $10,000 in earnings may be taxed at 5%, the next $10,000 at 10%, and any more income at 20%. Alternatively, a flat tax taxes all earnings at the same rate. A regressive income tax may tax income up to a certain amount, such as taxing only the first $90,000 earned. A tax system may use different taxation methods for different types of income. However, the idea of a progressive income tax has garnered support from economists and political scientists of many different ideologies. Karl Marx[color=#00000

Not so sure why a lot of you guys are so mad who have to pay in. I make sure i have to pay in a little every year. I know its nice to get a refund every year but your losing out on free money, sure you get a nice little bonus check but your money is not earning interest while the Gov has it. Keep that extra 30, 50, or 100 dollars from each check and put it into a good interest bearing account or IRA etc. Why should the Gov make money with your money when you can use it to your own benefit.

That is the best you have? My spelling, Ha! Man give me a break.

Listen, I am no tax expert, and obviously your not either. You’re pretty good at cutting and pasting…

I have read what you posted and I don’t see where it says you must pay.

Did you look at the 2 Supreme Court decisions after the amendment supposedly passed that clearly stated that the 16th amendment afforded the government no new taxing privileges and did not change any of the taxing privileges of the constitution?

You obviously are not paying attention to the movie or the body of evidence to the contrary of your argument.
The 16th amendment was never ratified by the states-a corrupt secretary of the treasury lied to the people about this-AND THIS IS WELL KNOWN-Furthermore THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT ruled 2 separate times that the "16th amendment confirms the federal government no new taxing privileges." It's unconstitutional and the highest form of government tyranny. Period.

The word “income†also was defined in the constitution as: Gains or profits from corporate activities.

I am getting tired of doing your homework.

Not to take any ones side, but, I see your point telgren. I'm currently going to school to earn my degree in business. I had to take an economy class and we studied the function of the Federal Reserve and the whole banking system. But, I think that law does not clearly define taxable income, it was also mention in the video, and this were the debate starts to my opinion. I hate paying income tax and much as rancidf4i; but, I do. The video has many good arguments - they even said, "Show me the law that state that I need to pay for income Tax?" What I fine interesting is that the IRS keeps ignoring that question or as if they did not hear it. Again, the power of video editing - we only hear and see what the director wantsus to see and hear. I guess my point is, if the government stops having us pay income tax - they'll just fine another way of collecting it from us which can results to higher taxes some where else.

To truly have no tax time and to eliminate the income tax check out www.fairtax.org

Its is a bill that is being introduced in the house and senate as HR 25
I love how no one else cought this. Please read the link. It's very easy and is the best idea out there. It is truely a no brainer. Once you truely understand it you'll be really pissed that out reps in goverment don't switch over to it. This is not to be confused with the flat tax.

Ok, so taxes don't come out of paychecks or income. But the price of goods skyrockets becuase all taxes are then taken as a sales tax...........

This nonpartisan legislation (HR 25/S 25) abolishes all federal personal, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, self-employment, and corporate taxes and replaces them all with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax – collected by existing state sales tax authorities.
So you can keep your paycheck, but if you buy something, get ready to pay out the *** for it.

Yes you will pay out the *** when you want to purchase something.

But how many people in America right now just pull out their credit cards when they want something and dont think twice about how much its really going to cost. On average most people have credit cards have an intrest rate of 20% after there 1 year no hassle term agreement is up. Thats why everyone is in so much debt, they dont think twice about about how much its really going to cost them.

Now if you throw that figure up front when someone is going to purchase something, dont you think they are going to think twice if they really need that item or not. If they even have any slight indication of a brain, they will, and they will think twice about how there taxes are being spent. Its amazing how poor America is, especially when we have so much business going on in this country. This will plan will solve some many problems, and business's will be able to grow at a more rapid pace and bring much more business in from all over the world.

Sure the downfall of Tax jobs will be lost, but people lose jobs all the time, there is way to much good in this plan than there is bad. I think the only reason that most Senators and House Representatives dont abide with this plan, is because most of the rich wont be getting any breaks. If they wanna purchase a new $1million dollar toy, there going to have pay that same 23% tax just like everyone else.

I suppose.

But as for this:

People have no fricken clue. They will do what they have always done "charge it". Thats why we have so many people in debt already. To be honest, in my own opinion, I think this would make it worse. But thats just me.

BTW, didn't catch this in the article, what does this do to the price of toilet paper, diapers, groceries, etc? Do those get jacked up to?
