Nice day!!!
Well I too took advantage of the awesome weather and went riding around the chicagoland area.
Before takeoff:
Warming up:
Rode a bit then stopped at my favourite place to run called swallow cliff. Awesome trails and some really scary / technical mountain bike trails.
The cliff:
Obligatory pic of the bike:
Next up was another forest preserve called Bullfrog Lake out in Palos. Home of the big mountain bike race around here and apparently a lot of cross country skiers in the winter..
There's a lake somewhere over there...
Damn they're pretty harsh..
Next up was Argonne national laboratory. Well actually I just kinda sat outside and ate some pistachios. Doesn't look like I can get in...
Here's the link to it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argonne...nal_Laboratory
One of the white deer that lurks around the trail surrounding the lab:
Creepy.
Now after I stopped at Argonne I start riding and well what do ya know...my throttle has like 2 inches of play. A few days ago I tried to fix my throttle cables so the throttle wouldn't stick open a little and make it idle at like 2k.
So I stop at a gas station, BUY a philips head screwdriver, then proceed to fixing it. Good think I've done this 10,000,000 times before. Oh and some ******* in a truck parked in the spot to the right of the bike when I Was working on it. I was like seriously?? He came out and like scoffed at me while I was working like I was in HIS way. Whatever.
This little bugger came out of the housing.
After that debacle I hopped on interstate 55 to meet my friend john at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I didn't take any pictures, but I'll just put one here for fun.
After that, I had to get UIC parking police to jump my bike cause the battery died (while illegally parked in one of their spots..) Then a windy windy ride home on I-57.
