How did you get the plastic around the gauges and tank so clean?

It went from dirty grey to gloss black! What products did you use?
It looks like he re-sprayed it with black paint (probably trim paint). That would be my guess.

Yup used a plastic krylon spray with about two coats of clear for protection. The guages was just turtle wax compound and wax.....

The tank pad is coming today, he had a tank bra but I hate those!!

As for the rest it's all mechanical now, besides the seat and rear cowling pieces.

It needs forkseals, a jet kit, exhaust, tires, and possible chain. But still for the money when I am done I will have about $2600 invested and be able to flip it if I wanted for $3500 easy!!! Or just hang on to it, hell it only has 21650 miles on it.

and for the above question it's a 1994 Kawasaki ZX-11D2 series

Ok so I got quotes on what is left. The seat is at the shop for upholstry, the bike is at the garage for tires and brakes....they are also doing the forkseals with race tech for added support. Anyone know how tough it is to do your own fork seals? Any special tools?

Anyway, I should have it back soon I hope!! When I do I will get the final pics up for you all to see.....oh yea and I still have to send out the rear fairings for repaint.

To do the fork seals yourself, you have to be able to invert the bike so the forks are perfectly vertical. This is the only way to accurately measure the amount of fork oil. Bike shops have lifts to do this with, so I imagine it would be hard and/or dangerous to DIY.

so more than likely just pay them to do that part for me is the best? I just like to do as much myself as possible but when it comes to stuff like that I would rather have it accurate!
