Wow.......I was thinking the same thing. Do you have it geared down? It didnt slam the rev limiter so I would guess it's almost stock (gearing). I didnt realize it would take that long on a 600 either. Huh........shows what I know.

 

It was struggling a little bit.... it was really windy out and going the one direction was a damn near straight headwind. Add to that I couldn't tuck cuz of the camera being in the way, so I was sticking up like a sail. Adds lots o drag at that speed!! [:-]

Add a speedo healer to your bike, and you'd be suprised.... it's not as fast as you might think it is My speedo is dead nuts accurate, GPS calibrated to the tenth of a MPH, so it's not reading roughly 7% higher than I'm actually going. Also geared +3 in the rear. It'll go faster, I just didn't feel like holding it since I was getting blown all around. It hits redline at 152 actual. When I had the stock gearing and no speedo healer it would top out at 162 indicated, and woudn't hit redline. 162 indicated, is right around 150 actual, so the top speed is about the same even with the gear change

LOL You have no idea how much I absolutely HATE going down anywhere near Miami... period! Especially Southbeach! Traffic moving at 0.5 MPH the whole time, ******* moto cops always waiting there if you lanesplit or have your visor open, nobody knows how to drive, accidents everywhere, and most of all.... NOBODY SPEAKS ENGLISH!!! One of my biggest pet peeves ever... you're in America damnit, speak the ****** language! And then I get dirty looks because I don't speak spanish... go figure. I try and stay away from Miami-Dade county (aka north Cuba) at all costs... hell even Broward is bad enough [:@] I'll go up to the beach in West Palm Beach for ya... there's some lookers up there too!

The road looks like the highways in Texas...flat, straight, and boring.
(There are twisty's in Texas...just gotta know the good ones and learn where to look for new ones.)

As for the 140 mph. All kinds of factors besides the ones you mentioned.
Go to a track day. You may only go 80-90 all day, but it will seem like 150mph, and you'll have a lot more fun.
