To be honest, I have no idea what kind of windscreen I have. It's chrome I know that. Let's say that the windscreen is the problem, would putting a towel over the gauge while it's in the parking lot prevent melting?

What a pain in the ****. I have replaced the gauge cover twice, and now had to fork up $175 for a new cluster. You would think by now that they would have created a solution in the windscreens to alleviate this problem.
Thanks for your help. I had posted a thread about my gauges melting and no one replied. I wish one of those guys would have posted a picture of the painted windscreens that they made to help the melting issue.

What kind of spray paint? Just normal black?
