Thanks again for the kind words The mirrors I got were for an f2. I could have got them to bolt up, but they would have been unusable. The angle at which they would mount made them impossible to use for rear viewing. Though I guess I could see who's beside me without turning my head

Looks awesome. I wasn't liking the orange peel look in the first few pics but once you buffed it out I'm really impressed. What steps did you use when doing the paint? I have the same gun from HF and was going to paint my brothers truck with it or at least do the primer with the cheaper gun. Did you wetsand the black before you sprayed the clear or wetsand the primer before the black? The bike looks about 10000X better though and thats great for your first spray.

BTW I would leave the mirrors white to match the wheels and the stickers IMO but its up to you.

I don't have an exact dollar amount, but I'm gonna have to say:
150 for primer, sealer, base, clear, reducer, and cleaner.
20 for harbor freight gun
8 for pressure regulator
5 for disposable in-line filter
12 for body filler
30 for organic mask (don't go cheap here, no disposable sanding masks!!!)

So there's about 225.00. But then there is all the little things. Sand paper, cleaner for the gun, rags, plastic drop cloth, tape
etc, etc.

Decals were about 90.00.
and I had to order a few small plastic pieces like the cable guide that bolts to the front of the tank, and the two inner plastic pieces that go by the windshield. And a few rubber gromments and pads. 50 bucks there.
I figure I'm probably 450 dollars poorer after everything is added up. +/- 40 bucks.

Thanks again!
The orange peel was sanded with 1000, 1500, and then 2000. Then I used 3M's Perfect It 2 stage buffing compounds to shine it up.

When painting I put 2 coats of primer, then sanded with 400. 4 coats of base no sanding. Then cleared. You shouldn't need to sand
your base unless you get runs. Just follow the directions on the paint that you are using. I'll post the write up that I followed.

Write up, post #8

This is the write up that I followed. I didn't follow it exactly, but it's a very well written post by a professional painter. It will give you a good overview, but you also need to follow what the paint manufacture recommends that you are using.
