Default Deer season!

I was standing outside and thought I kept hearing a fawn bleet in the woods by the house. I walked down to check it out and found a doe, I watched her for a while but when I tried to get closer she ran. I turned to walk back to the house and heard it again, directly between me and the house. I walked forward and sure enough, there was this little fawn, looks like a newborn, just laying there. I walked back up and grabbed the camera and took a couple pics before the mom got back. As I was finished and ready to leave, it tried getting up but could not yet stand. I figured I better leave so the mom could tend to it. I'll have to check on it later cause I'm always seeing fox in this area and there are lots of coyotes here too.

Thought you guys may like this!!!

Now there is something you don't get to see too often huh. I think I'd rather see Bambi than the friggin Turkey we have! Dam things are starting to get on my nerves now and I'm ready to break out the Bow. Now we have the Toms all strutin their sh-t now, standin in the middle of the pack acting like they're all that...all puffed up and everything. It was neat to see the first time but it's old now, Maybe it's time to see just how quick the 4 wheeler is! That's cool you got some close ups though, probly never happen again right.

I'm guessing the mother may not have been able to feed it (no milk)....... The little thing sure makes you feel for it.......

Yeah your probably right. Too bad you didn't know at first cause you'd probly have a new pet right now.
So what did you do, did you move it or anything?

Cool pics, too bad about the little guy..

Two good things to take from this, though. First, I don't know about in Ohio but here in central FL and in NJ where my dad is these deer are like vermin. They're just everywhere. So this is a small loss, if not somewhat close to home. Also, this is one less deer to jump out in front of you during a summer night ride. (Maybe harsh, I know, but a couple of truths nonetheless.)
