So the dude was riding a Yami and had on boots, jacket, gloves and some type of riding pants. His passenger was wearing a jacket and sneakers. Wonder where the passenger ended up? I wonder about the circumstances of this crash. May not have been high speed -- could've dumped in front of a slew of traffic. I used to work with a guy who had a blow out and got run over by an 18 wheeler -- he was fortunate in that the tractor missed him and only the trailer ran over .... his head. It warped the Bell helmet he was wearing so bad that they had to cut it off with a saw at the scene. Fractured skull and a bad headache was all he ended up with. So wear the gear!!

Patrick -- don't let that deter you from getting a bike. 3 mos ago two bikers (idiots really) died on I-285 doing stunts at night. Last week 3 died in a car from a drunk semi driver and 7 were badly injured. So it isn't the vehicle as much as it is the circumstances.
