Where are best twisties in WV?
I just got approved for nine days off in June and I want to do a motorcycle trip. I'm trying to find a destination in West Virginia with great twisties. I'm looking for the tightest and most technical roads I can find. I've done Deal's Gap before and while it's a great road I want to find a place with fewer hazards such as traffic or police. The dragon has just attracted too much attention. I've heard that Senaca Rocks is a good area. I've been rafting in Fayetteville so I was considering that region as well. Anyone have prior trips or knowledge of WV rides?

I just booked a hotel in Elkins, WV today. Route 33 seemed to come up quite a bit on the internet. Just looking at a map there are a lot of good roads in that area. I'm excited now since the roads will be great and there won't be as much traffic as there was around Deal's Gap. Work is a lot less stressful when you have something like this to look forward too I'm need a vacation to keep my sanity at this point.

Are you going to be staying around the Elkins area on your whole trip? How far would you like to ride away from Elkins? Also, about Rt.33. It's def a good ride just keep your eyes out for gravel sometimes and deer. Other than that it's def one of the best roads here. Cops arn't to bad most of the time either!

Thanks for the advice. Deer and gravel are pretty bad in Southeastern Indiana too (had a near deer hit last fall). I'm staying in Elkins the whole time so that I can ride without any luggage while I'm in there. I'm definately exploring Rt. 33 and also the Canaan Valley area. The whole area is beautiful. I love solo trips because I can just search for the best roads and make my own decisions of where I want to ride. Between finishing school and working I haven't taken a real vacation in 2 years so I'm really looking forward to this.
