Default Europe?

Today my lovely wife came up with the idea of going somewhere. We ended up with Germany as the destination when we can afford it. So I thought why not do it on two wheels. Anyone have any idea how much it costs to ship a bike overseas?

Not sure about the shipping to Europe but I know it's not that much to rent a bike, as long as you don't mind a BMW or Triumph.
I had a bike shipped to Hawaii and it cost about $500 one way.

I know. The prices aren't too shabby either. The K 1200 looks comfy but I like the idea of being on my bike. Unlike some of the other euro tour sites, they don't list a BYOB rate.

We are looking at the trip to Norway for 2007 at www.edelweissbike.com

Why not consider doing Germany with Edelweiss, too? From what I understand, bike theft is as big - if not a bigger problem over there as it is here and shipping with crating and delivery, etc. could be a real pain. I wouldn't ride my own babies over there - too afraid they'd be ripped off.
With Edwlweiss, you get to ride a different bike for a whole week. I did Ireland, Scotland and last summer, China. Rode 2 RT's and last summer a GS. You can either go with the tour guide or off on your own and you can go at your own pace. They have several models to chool from depending on your inclination and finances.

Rent a bike mate, it will work out much cheaper. It`s cheaper for me to rent one than take my own to germany and i`m only 6 hours away.
