Question Riding in Europe

I am off to france in June and have been trying to find out what bikers need to carry with the new laws.

there are lots of websites for cars but not bikes. Anybody got any definitive lists?

Cheers

I've enjoyed a few jaunts through europe, last to Grossglockner in Austria via South of France.
A reflective vest and the latest from (June 1st) - I kid you not - is a disposable breathalizer kit. Should be available from the ports. Cost 2EURO...

Thumbs up Europe kit

Hi Baron,

this is just the problem I am having - the breathalyser law differs according to what website you check. the latest I can find is that these are law from July 1st but not enforceable until November

My list for France, from all the websites is;

Hi-viz vest (law for all road users)
Spare bulbs (no info for bikes but all other vehicles need them)
2 x Breathlyser (July onwards)
All paper work

Cheers

Ya, what? Don't the cops have their own breathalyzers any more?

Those austerity measures are really starting to bite aren't they? Give it another twelve months and you'll have to carry your own truncheon to hand to the officer so he can smack you around a bit if you fail your own breathalyzer test.

Ahh that's a good un.
It's pretty true though - the frenchies are trying to get all sorts of nonsense through at the mo'
In the pipeline are 30cm x 30cm number plates, no filtering and a good Sarkozy impression.
OK, not the last bit...

Even the biggest number plate in the world will still defeat a speed camera if you just top mount it on piano hinge. Just make sure you pop a single bolt in the bottom when you go for your MOT.
