california canyons?
So i recently moved from near dayton ohio and rode cross the country on my cbr600f3. what an experience. i was able to take my time and see the grand canyon. a must see. but i have heard about the "canyons in california" i am near huntington beach. i was wondering where those "canyons" would be i am getting tired of only having to ride in traffic i would love to "break free" and cruise a little bit. if you can help that would be awesome.
Congrats on your cross country...quite the accomplishment. I'm sure you have some stories to tell.
There are quite a few socal roads. Some may require a short trip to access. But that shouldn't see like much after riding cross country!
Google some of these:
The Rock Store (there are several canyon roads btwn PCH & Hwy 101)
Angeles Crest
Ortega Hwy
Palomar Mountain
Montezuma (to Borrego Springs)
Mt Laguna
Sunrise Hwy
Those should get you started.

I've been out to "Valley of Fire National State Park" which have by far some of the best scenic canyons/roads I've ever seen but I can just imagine what the Grand Canyon would bring on a run through there. Someday I'm going to have to plan a trip out there..
