Great report Plasnart - thanks I almost felt I was going along with you. I absolutely adore the countryside up through that way.

Lived in Griffith/Leeton for quite a few years.

Cheers, SB

Good for you, Man.

Been doing the all-weather commute. Can't remember my last pleasure ride.

Pics please, as a reminder for what it's like

Ahh woofer I have fond memories of living off my bike. Did that for over 3 years back in the 90s and had some torrid experiences just getting to work and back when I only had a bike. Was a brilliant time of my life but no longer mate, just for fun now. I tried uploading a couple of pics but computer refused for some reason. Just picture your bike on a flat open plain, no trees just knee-high scrub and the road disappearing into the shimmer on the horizon. That's what it was like.

Oh yeah and the silence. At one stage I pulled over, turned the bike off, pulled the helmet off and just stood there listening. Nothing. Not a whisper. As a kid my old man took me out there riding two up on his dirt bike and we just sat there at one stage listening. Listening at the silence. Was the first time I ever heard my heart beating that's how silent it is. And every time I go out there now I make sure I stop and listen to the silence again. Very special place. Google earth Ivanhoe, New South Wales, Australia and you will see how desolate it is out there. Cheers mate.
