CBR Forum get together at Deal's Gap/Dragon.... Fall 2010!

Doug, please do what is best for you and your daughter first. I'm sure we can get together at a later date. Your plate is full and we will make/have more rides in the future.
Dave, My plan is to leave Dragon/Tellico area on Thursday 10/7. Dinner and bed down in Birmingham/Barber that night. The Vintage Festival starts 10/8 Friday morning.
I still intend to ride Skyline and Blue Ridge to get to the Smokys/Dragon area10/2-5. If the coast to coast challenge sprocket is still stalled in DC or WV, I'll pick it up and bring it to Barber. Again my intention is to be in the Deals Gap area 10/5-7.

Ok, I'm bumping this since it's been almost a week.
I'm still in (took 16 1/2 days off total)
Leaving the night of the 30th, ride till western CT, crash in a rest stop for a couple of hours, then power nap my way down on the 1st.
Staying @ the Super 8 in Front Royal (it's cheap, I get points, and I can find promo codes to knock the price down)
Leave on the 2nd for Skyline drive and some of Blue Ridge. Crash in Roanoke (2nd full day of riding is always the worst, figure a shorter day and recharge)
Oct 3rd, more Blue Ridge down to Ashville
Oct 4th, finish BRP and crash in Robbinsville.
Oct 5th, 6th, Dragon, Cherohala, tire change / maintenance
Oct 7th, travel to BMS
Oct 8-10 Museum, Vintage Festival, recharge day
Oct 11th, travel back to Deals Gap
Oct 12th, last run or 2 through area
Oct 13-15, slow ride home
I'm trying to keep the miles per day below 300 so I can enjoy the ride without burning myself out

All-Ride-tee!
I'll see if I can get on the road a day earlier and arrive in Front Royal on the 1st to meet you. Shouldn't be a problem. The Super 8 is ok by me, I've not checked out any lodging there yet.
Are you planning motels at all stops including BMS? In years past I have camped at the track.
I'll part company the morning of the 10th to head home, or hmmmm go back to the Dragon with you. The wife won't miss me but the dog will!
OK now, the rest of you guys need to sign on now, we are inside a month.

Hey Jim, I was reading on one of my other forums that the BRP between Roanoke and the NC state line is down right boring and to be avoided if you value your sanity. I'm thinking of taking I-81 out of Roanoke south to I-77, south to Fancy Gap and pick up the BRP there. should shave a couple of hours off

Hey not opposed to jumpin off the BRP for a break or if we need to make some time. I-81/I-77 could be pretty. I-40 thru the mountains at the TN/NC border is really great for a super slab. When I first thought about this ride I liked the idea of running the BRP end to end. Keep all the options open I guess.
