Default WMRRA Novice Round 2 2013

oh man what a weekend
started off good in Saturdays practice , skipped first practice due to swapping out the slicks for rain tiers , so second practice went well , had to get use to the changes that were done to the bike.
so there I was in the first race , and after getting a terrible start , at lap two had made it back up to 3rd place everything was going according to plan , when all of a sudden BAM!!!!!!
there I was sliding on all fours as the bike slid away from me
AAHHHWWW crap
so for the first race I got a DNF
and to top it off I broke the right rearset in half other than that there was just a little rash on the tail , and the brake lever along with the sliders doing their job wasn't bad
Now I didn't have anything to replace the rearset with , so I started to get really bummed thinking that I would not be able to finish the weekend and start in Sundays race
Got to meet Tuck and Roll that day too he was pitted right across from me .
Luckily I knew this one guy , supposedly he's one of the faster guys bla bla bla number one plate holder yada yada yada , and I knew he use to have an 07/08 cbr600rr like mine
thank GOD he kept all his spare parts after switching to an R6,
told me I was welcome to scavenge through his parts
Well I found something that worked I called it a SatoGille , lol
yes both parts from the Gilles , and the Sato rearset Frankensteined together to make a working rearset
whew mind rested at ease .
with nothing going on in the pits that night................................. I decided to crawl in the tent and go to sleep listening to the sound of the rain outside .

Next morning woke up got the bike re inspected , now I was good to go
first morning practice was a little nervous , but I knew I need to get my mind back up to speed
race was at 11am , I needed to make up for Saturday
race 2 got a horrible start went into turn 1 in 12 place but by the time they red flagged the race I had scrambled back into 4 place

2nd race got restarted , another ****ty start and was in 10th place, it was a lot of work but by the last lap I had climbed my way back up to 3rd
today's race totally made up for yesterday mishap
I also would like to add that there was EPIC porpotions of rain this weekend

race was restarted after a couple laps
and here is the restarted race
oh lol and here is Saturdays DNF

Those pictures are insane, never seen anything like that. You almost need a rudder fitted to your bike. Was it really heavy rain or had the track flooded because it rained for a long time?

On the straight, just before your crash, that one guy came flying in between you and the other rider. Seemed pretty close.

Because I'll be heading to that track this year I'm curious which part of the track it was that flooded and if there was more than one part with standing water?

So where are you in the standings after two rounds? Must be doing ok with a bunch of podiums.

as far as the numbers I was at #2 after round 1 now after round 2 I'm down a bit to #4 in the standing

the parts that collect some standing water but not much are turn 9 and turn 1 both by the curbing
the standing lake due to the sudden amounts of rain , keep in mind this was a rare monsoon style type of shower , was turn 8a and b

I was there that weekend watching. Good racing and yes, Sunday for a few minutes there I thought we were gonna drown! Can't imagine trying to race in that!!
