If he does it won't be the factory team unless the feild 3 bikes and I highly doubt it. Rossi just signed last year and hes not going anywhere yet. Nicky is under contract through the 2012 season.

I can totally see Marco being a target of theirs. His style suits their bike much better than the Honda. Of course next year will be a totally different bike, so that is sort of a moot point unless they have some idea of how the new bike will perform.

Honda is fielding three bikes this year, wouldn't be too far of a stretch for Ducati to do the same.

Because he is fast, just not either mature or patient enough when he does fall behind. He wants to win the race in the first few laps, put him under the guidance of Rossi and Hayden and hopefully he learns the patience needed to start riding smarter.

it's a HUGE stretch to see ducati run 3 factory bikes.... you can't believe how much money it takes to field another factory bike. ducati can't afford to run worldsuperbike... and you think they can just up and field another bike on the most expensive motorcycle racing series in existence???

the only reason honda ran 3 was because they were willing to in order to get stoner when they still had pedrosa and dovi under contract. they originally thought they were going to be able to get rid of dovi, but he wanted to finish out his contract with them so honda's only choice to get stoner was to field a third bike. and its cost them tons... and they don't mind because stoner is doing the business right now... but believe me its not an easy or cheap thing to do in motogp. and honda (size wise and funds wise) is no where near comparable to ducati.

simoncelli has been a pr nightmare this year with the incidents he's had thus far. immature would be pushing too hard in the rain. but taking out a rider that's basically a teammate (pedrosa) and braking his collar bone when he could have waited to pass is STUPIDITY. the guy has just been a flop this year.

Ducati is a ant hill compare to Honda. Ducati at this moment had to dig deep to pay Rossi. 3rd bike = 2 million plus. Then you need to pay the rider. Then his crew's salary and thats about 15 people and the list goes on and on. Really, Ducati is lucky with what they have.
