MotoGP rider dies - RIP Marco Simoncelli

his helmet just popped off.
but i don't think it was because it was a full size large for his hair. either way, the chin strap should have kept it on regardless of size, AND all that hair took up room to compensate for the larger size, so it's not like it was too big.
so i think it had something to do with the chin strap, because it should have stayed on and it didn't.
and i was thinking the same thing last night when despain talked on windtunnel about the 3 deaths. very disturbing and tragic.
his passing really does bother me.

His helmet was hit on the backside of the helmet directly upwards. An impact that would normally not be seen. The helmet just rolled foward.
It has been bothering me as well. He wasn't one of my favorite riders, but his potential was undeniable. I've thought about it everyday since it happened. That is one of the only GP's I wish I wasn't watching. Several of the images are sticking in my head.

Even Heroes Can Die - Coming To Grips With Motorcycle Mortality

Been almost a year since this tragic event occurred. It should remind us all to be safe out there and also of our mortality. One thing Marco knew just as other racers know is that it is better to truly live and risk dying young than to live to be an old man who regrets never having done anything worth doing. This is why I love to ride. I get out on the road every day I can knowing that it could be my last time, but I am never more ALIVE than when I'm in the saddle. It's sad to see people go like this, but I know the risks and I WON'T live in fear or with regrets. RIP to all the riders who have lost their lives doing what they love and my prayers to their families and friends.
