Default Shoei Helmet???

Ok so here is the dealio my buddies friend stopped riding and now is selling his shoei helmet. It has no scratches on it and look fairly new. The only problem is it has a blue spider on it? Its red white and blue and it sorta ugly but it has to be a better upgrade then my current hjc session helmet that I have dropped. I have worn it and its very comfortable the only problem is the way it looks. Any of you guys out that have good experience with these helmets and what do you suggest. the guy is tryin to get rid of it so he said he would sell it to me for 75 dollars. Ill post pics of it tomorrow

Personally, I would never buy a used helmet. After a period of time, the foam shapes towards the contours of the owner's head. Consequently, it would compromise the integrity of the helmet when impacted. That's what I believe. I wouldn't cheap out on the helmet either. You spent 6k on a bike and only 75 dollars on a helmet? Use some common sense and protect your noggin'. As far as the model of Shoei goes, if it's not an RF-1000 or an X-11, I wouldn't get it. I would recommend ebay and buying new helmets on there. With some common sense and luck, you'll find a good helmet.

+1 ^^^^ I buy nothing used when it comes to riding gear. Especially helmets.
