I just found a few closeout prices on these helmets. I don't think they made them anymore. Does anyone ever owned one of these helmets? How are they different from the X-12? Are the X-11s better than the current rf-1100s?

 

The X-11 is the old model of the top-of-the-line racing helmet Shoei produces. They are different altogether than the RF-1000 or RF-1100. These are great helmets for the track, because that is where they were designed to work the best. If you do mainly street riding, you might like the RF series better.

 

I have the x-11 and love it, feels great, not to much wind noise. I've read that some like it better than the new x-12's, and say that the x-11 is the best they've tried.

Granted I haven't had anything else this nice in a full face before, so I may be biased. I've usually only worn dirtbike helmets or borrowed someone else's and didn't pay much attention.

 

I just got my new X-12 and I love it. I have heard that cooling on them isn't good unless you are going at track speeds. This isn't true. It ventilates much better than my old Shark RSi helmet.

I would say if you can get the X-11 at a great price, then do it.

 

i have the rf and its probobly the best feeling helmet IMO. what i also like is that it doesnt effect my periphrial vision.
