Riding Jeans
what is your planned use for the pants?
If you are looking to do some real riding, absolutely spend the money and get some leathers. but, if you just want something to run down
to the store, go get lunch, whatever but dont want to wear leathers, get a pair of alter ego's or other type of mesh/textile over pant.
I thought about getting a pair of riding jeans for quick errands and stuff, but was talked out of it becuase in the summer they are extremely hot and uncomfortable. hence, I will be less likely to wear them for quick trips. but a pair of textile will still be simple enough to wear over a normal pair of jeans or whatever and offer a little more protection than just my shorts.

I'm in the same boat. I want a pair of riding jeans, but not if they r uncomfy and hot. what is reccomended. I don't think I want full blown leather. the textile pants, which are good and reccomened?
I would like something that offers some additional protection for those extended joy rides now that its getting nice out. I checked out 2 local bike shops for riding jeans and havent found any with them in stock. Any recomendationsor experience is appreciated.
I purchased a set of Cortech DSX Denim riding pants from Competition Accessories. They are on the large size with CE knee pads. I have to send them back for a smaller size, but they have leather in the areas that "might" get scraped up in case of a fall. The CE knee pads are a great idea since it your knees that usually hit the ground first if you go down.
