it rides up on my neck...kind of feels like it is strangling me lol...i think i want a textile jacket vs. leather

IMO Textile are just as hot as leather, get a mesh jacket.

My mesh jacket has a higher collar than my leather one does, I usually have to unzip the mesh one about an inch. Whatever type if jacket you decide to go with look for a collarless one and it should solve your issue. I will say that my mesh jacket pretty much sits now that I have a perforated leather jacket, they flow the same amount of air when I'm riding.

i have this real old joe rocket jacket that i got for free from a buddy.
its nylon and polyester but is real comfortable and doesnt get too hot.

looking for something maybe like this
