Default Riding Jackets

So I got my birthday coming up and it's about time I get a jacket, which everyone is going to pitch in on for me!

I am in a debate of which Shift jacket i want though.

I am thinking about this jacket

octane
Shift Octane Leather Jacket - $299.95 closeout special! In stock NOW! :: MSRP: $499.95

or

this jacket + shoes

sr-1
Shift SR-1 Competition Grade Leather Jacket - $149.95 closeout special! In stock NOW! :: MSRP: $399.95

kickers
Shift Kicker Street Shoes - White Print - $89.99 closeout special! In stock NOW! :: MSRP: $129.99

what do you guys think? also anyone happen to have any of these?

You cant go wrong with Shift. I love em, I have my mesh jacket for summer riding and gloves and its great quality. Personally I like the first one, but it's more money and it leaves you with out new shoes. Tough one...

I like the octane. Remind me of superman lol. Never had shift products before but I heard good things about them.

Both jackets looks good and seem to offer some good protection. Just make sure you know your size so you won't have to worry about returns. If you are in and ride primarily in a warm climate, be mindful of how much perforation you will want and need.

For the riding shoes, I try to stay away from shoes that have exposed laces (even though those laces can be tucked/tied behind the strap). I just don't take any changes with that. I have a pair of AGV Sport riding boots that have laces, but the laces are behind the front closure part of the boots and keeps the laces hidden (so the laces wont have a change to become untied).

Moved to Riding Gear since it's not a F4i thing. Might get more opinions from those that don't check the F4i section

The downside of good protective leather jackets. My jacket can feel like a pizza overn (both weight and temp) when I'm stuck in traffic. But when I'm moving, the heat disappears quick. And when I'm riding, I never feel anything but the ride Wear it and you'll acclimate quickly

Oh yeah, avoid the rain. If you think the jacket is heavy now, wait till it gains 5 lbs worth of rain water
