Default riding gear

I am planning a long trip and am looking around for some riding gear. The first thing that i am looking for is a quality riding jacket. Another piece of gear that i am looking for is a bag that i can mount on the back seat for storage. If anyone is impressed with the versility with their equiptment please tell me before i start spend money.

Thanks everyone,
Bryan

Magnetic tank bag that expands and has a waterproof cover is good too. I've seen saddlebags too (universal style) that you may want to consider, as for specific brands...personal preference.

I bought a Nelson Rigg tank bag and I LOVE IT!!! I use it full time to hold my phone, wallet, owners manual, etc. Here is a page from the place I got mine.

For riding jacket, I use Joe Rocket Supermoto. It is perforated leather and breathes relatively easily (still hot at stops but leather always will be). I love it.

What do diffrent people like better and why? I see rear mounted bags and tank bags. I can see an advantage to the tank bag because you can lean on it to get some relief. I have only ridden a few multi hour trips with a back pack and that starts getting to you after a while. I appreciate all information.

Thanks everyone
Bryan

axio-usa.com

They have a nice assortment ofbags and packs. I have the swift hardpack in carbon finish and use it all the time. Highest quality hardpack I have ever seen. I would assume that their tank bags and trunk packs have the sameoutstanding quality and usability.
