Default RF-1000 vs. RF-1100 ???

I'm looking for some insight from anybody that has gone from a Shoei RF-1000 to the new RF-1100 and how much of a difference there are between the two.

Even if you haven't actually made the transition, I would love to hear about these helmets. Last year I decided that I was going to save up for a RF-1000 because I hear it quiet and comfortable but then the RF-1100 came out so of course I now have a problem. The RF-1000 is even cheaper now because of the RF-1100 coming out, but if the RF-1100 is worth the extra money then I definitely want it.

dunno I been told the rf-100 isnt that quiet lol. By comparing the 2 designs the 110 looks like it would be quieter, n ya would think it should be a tad lighter

I actually don't have any experience with the RF-1000, I just heard it was quiet from a friend but I'm not sure how credible his motorcycle advise is anyway. I suppose it's hard to say any helmet can be truly quiet but something has to be better than my HJC and late RX-7

I can't speak toward the RF1100, but I can say that I absolutely love my RF1000. I used to have a mid-model HJC, and the noise isn't really better but the comfort level is WAY better, it's way lighter, and the ventilation is much better on the RF1000. I wouldn't say the RF1000 is loud necessarily, but I sure didn't buy it because I was looking for a quiet helmet -- it's not really something that concerns me because I use headphones that actually act as ear plugs. I can't say enough good things about it and I definitely think they're a great value with how much the prices have come down lately.

I have last year's rf1100 (i'm 99% sure). It's not quiet. It's not loud but it's def. not quiet. I was a little disappointed because I paid a lot for it but the consultation is that it will protect the money maker. It is a good helmet, don't get me wrong. I guess I expected too much?

I stand corrected, there's that 1%. Nonetheless, it's a good helmet.

I recently bought an RF-1000. I tried on that one as well as the RF-1100 plus a dozen or so other models and the RF-1000 fit me better.

The only thing that bugs me about it is that the screen fogs very easily, even with the breath guard in place. Unless I'm doing highway speed I usually ride with the shield open one notch or it soon becomes too foggy to safely see. Perhaps warmer weather will fix this problem. In the meantime I bought something called a Fog Shield insert that has good reviews by many owners. I haven't installed it yet. I don't know if the RF-1100 has the same fogging issue.

I have used both, and the RF1100 is definately much better. It has no fog guard, but due to the design it does not fog unless you are stopped. Get going again and it clears. This is at any temp and rain or shine. Only replaced the RF1000 due to hitting the road with it.
