RE: new helmet... I can never go back to bread and water
Hmmm... I don't know.
My heads circumference is in cm 54/55, I think.
I don't know the measure in USA...
But I think you should go and try on the helmet in a store.
I've bougth my Shoei at ebay, but before I was in a bike-shop and tried it on

Quick question for the people with the Shoei RF 1000 helmet. What type of head do you guys have? (round or narrow) and what hat size do you wear? I wear 7 3/8 I believe.

I'll probably go to some dealerships this Saturday since my friend wants to look for bikes. I'll have to take a notepad to write down the ones I try on.
I also heard that the ( ) shaped heads should look at OGK and Arai and the O shaped heads would look to Shoei or Icon. Its just something I found in my research. I'll try on all of them just to see how it feels on my head.

RE: new helmet... I can never go back to bread and water
I first started out with an HJC helmet. I bought it at the dealer cuz i needed a helmet to take my bike home and didn't want to spend a lot on the helmet. I then bought a Shoei RF-1000, forget the name of it, and it worked good. I did find that it fogged up quick on me and it took it a while to clear even with all of the vents open. At times I left the shield cracked so I can see. I then got a Fog City sticker and it made things better. Another thing I noticed is that it kept moisture in the padding so it got stinky quick. I now have an Arai RX-7 Corsair and though it fogs up, I guess I'm a heavy breather, it clears up faster than the Shoei. Also the padding dries up quicker and it doesn't smell. I do have to clean out the pads but not as often as the Shoei.
On a side note, my friend has a Scorpion EXO-400 and that thing will not fog up on him. He rides in to work at 5am and the shield is clear where mine would fog up.
