Default looking for some gear, any suggestions?

I just bought an 05cbr red/black however I am now looking for some gear! I bought a scorpion exo700 red/black helmet, but am now in need of the rest of the goodies before summer. I have been looking at jackets and have seen quite a few I like, however I am more looking towards something that looks like a street bike jacket, but isnt quite as short. I dont plan on going to a track any time soon, but want something that I can wear when im not on my bike too. I would also would like it if I could get the gear to somewhat match my bike and helmet. Im open to all suggestions, im looking to spend possible around $1000 or so on everything, but like i said, im open to any comments you might have! Thanks!

Joe Rocket jackets tend to have a little extra length in the back and don't usually ride as high as some of the others. Other than that, I would look into some of the winter style jackets... I know Frank thomas and Dianase put out some decent, much longer style jackets. They tend to be heavier, but look more like a "normal" jacket. (still has armor though)

+2 on the joe rocket stuff..
They make a cbr jacket and you can get blaster 2.0 leather pants to wear also..Big plus IF you go to a track they zip together.

Get yourself a suit (you can get used really cheap), gloves, and boots. A suit will save your ***. A jacket can ride up if you slide an leave you exposed to road rash. If you've got 1000 to spend, find a local dealer to try stuff on at to get your size and then order online. I got my suit for 200$ shipped. It's nice b/c it zips up to my JR Supermoto jacket so I can alternate jackets depending on the weather.

check out www.newenough.com for great prices on gear. they have lots of brands to pick from. i use them alot for gear. +1 on trying on gear at a local shop then buying online. if i can get a dealer to come with in 10 bucks of an online price i will buy it there, but most of the time they are way higher on price. i bought a 450 dollar coar on line for 225, and got a full perf leather jacket teknic chicane jacket, for 149 it was over 250 in the stores. i also use www.motorcyclecloseouts.com they have good service as well

I would suggest going around to dealers and trying on stuff you like. Then when you find something you like search for it online. Don't pay stealership prices.

Dainese (Die-nay-zay): manufacturer of costly, mostly stylish, very Italian protective apparel.

I actually prefer Spidi, lately, but someone had to spell it right...[]

Yeah, it takes a lot of hunting and pecking to find a good deal on just the right jacket. Try on what you can at the dealer to get an idea of your size (very important), then go online and search for brand names that interest you. Then compare prices and look for any closeout surprises--it's fun, so take your time and don't pull the trigger until you get that special feeling of...YES, THAT'S IT...MUST HAVE IT...NOW

Good selection on the helmet. I would suggest Scorpion Gear to go with it.
