Since I saved $, I was wondering if a mirrored shield would be a good addition? Or is it just squidly...

I hear the replacement shields leak... is this a universal issue?

I was thinking of a mirrored gold shield. Does this make everything look yellow? decrease visibility at twilight/night?

Is there any place to get them for less than $33+shipping?!! Anyone want to sell me one in good condition?

I recently bought a mirrored shield for my CL-15. I like it a lot. It's the HJC brand too so it fits perfectly. Haven't noticed any leaks or anything.

It does reduce visibility a little but not to the point where you can't see enough to drive, however I still change to the clear shield when I know I'll be out at night.

One downside i noticed to the mirrored shield is that on really bright days you can actually see the reflection of your face on the inside of the visor for some reason. Once again it's a little frustrating at times but still allows you to ride fine.

$33+ shipping isn't bad. I paid $39.00 USD for mine on eBay, shipping included.

 

I have the same issue with the reflection on sunny days. Mine also lifts up when I turn my head to the side (just lets some air in but annoying). I just put up with it though. I paid around what you guys did for yous.

What ever you guys do with the mirror finish shields, don't clean then with plexus plastic cleaner. I use this cleaner on my helmets and I love the mirror finish on my shields but the first mirror shield I had was destroyed with plexus after four cleanings. The mirror finish is not integrated like smoked shield, it is sprayed and the ownly way to clean it is soap and water. What ever you all do don't use cleaners on mirror shields. Johnny

 

i use eagle one 20/20 window cleaner to clean my mirror shield for my icon, and don't have any problems... i also don't have problems with it lifting or leaking air maybe it's just a HJC thing?
