Default Body Armor

Anybody ever tried anything like this ? Its a Motocross EVS BJ22 ballistic jersey. The hard plastic looks like it would be more protection then the rubber in my jackets . It also has an actual back protector unlike those pads in all my other jackets, a chest protector and a kidney belt. Anyone know the benefits of the kidney belt ? From all the reviews I seen its real cool which is what I'm looking for. I have an Icon vest I wear under my other jackets but in the summer its just to hot for 3-4 layers of clothing and there is no way in hell I'm just wearing the Icon vest when I decide to get "down" or go further then up the street. I plan on wearing this over an under armour shirt and keeping a cotton long sleeve with me to put over this for the sudden chili Belle Isle nights. I figure this would be a good summer compromise looks like if I go down it might not make it out of the accident and I might get some road rash, but the plastic likes like it will save me from breaking or crushing something.

What do you think about this ?
Yes I know leather is king but there is no way I'm going to ride with either of my leathers on with the humidity we have here.
I also got it for 115 guaranteed to my door next door. Everywhere else had it for like 159-179

All the motocross stuff, will protect you if you fall. But skipping on the pavement,it doesn't work too well. It is approved for DIRT not concrete.

Good stuff for impact protection, not so good at abrasion protection.

Yea it seems as long as I slide on any part that's plastic I'll be ok. Since the plastic budges out a bit I feel pretty safe in this, not like my leather. But since I got this I took the pads out of my leather and wear this under my leather. I feel like going to play some football then !! Check it out all my players think I look like Batman with a helmet on
(sorry if pic doesn't show doing this from iPhone)

Careful not to scratch up your tank when you're tucked... if you worry about that kind of thing that is.
