Default My '94 with Wingrack

Bought a Wingrack with a view to some touring in the future and been looking for some bargain panniers. Eventually came across these Moto Guzzi branded (GIVI E36) panniers on ebay, just need some GIVI badges for the side to complete.

Presently using my Honda branded (GIVI) topbox, now on it's third bike, but had to make an adapter plate to fit to the Wingrack. This has resulted in quite a large gap between the tail fairiring & underside of the topbox. Would probably be smaller gap with a mono lock topbox but with box higher probably more comfortable for the pillion - not got the wife on the back yet. My other thought with the gap would be to have a lockable box built to fit the space which could hold a security chain.

Can the plate and base not be bolted through from the bottom so it's suspended not from the top?

Unfortunately not but you got me thinking with the Honda topbox being a GIVI is it a Monolock rather than a monokey like my panniers.
Thanks for your reply

That is a neat set up, so do you want more storage or a lower top box...hard decision.

I was hoping to lower the topbox but it appears the Honda mounting method is very specific & not Monolock. As this is not possible I guess a custom box to fill the space would have a double benefit - hiding the gap & gaining space.

Just got some E41 Keyless in gloss black, just got to clean up & get some pics done
