Im looking to get a mesh jacket and am considering the the Joe rocket Rio and the Joe Rocket Phoenix 4.0 does anyone have any input or preference of the 2. The rio doesnt come with a liner and i can get it for about 95 the phoenix does have a liner and i can get that for 120 shipped. Is the phoenix considered a better model? Any input will be appreciated...thanks

 

also, does anyone know if the phoenix replaced the rio for 2007?

 

The rio was discontinued, but I don't think they get replaced because they were both made at one time. I have a phoenix and a ufo and they are both good Jackets. Joe Rocket makes real good products and I like the way they fit. Johnny

try crashing in one and then see if they are good jackets.

 

I have crashed and thank the good Lord my only damage was my ancle. I hit a 300 pound hog at over 80 miles an hour. If you think there junk whats your opinion of a good Jacket. I also have an Icon mesh timax and an Arlen ness for the winter. Johnny

 

I've got the Phx and I love the mesh w/liner. Not sure about the quality of the protection pads(don't really want to find out), but it is nice in the summer time.

 

I have a Joe Rocket Pheonix Mesh and Joe Rocket Sonic Leather. Love both of them.
