Dan Moto JISU Exhaust - 2001 F4i (Pic Intensive)
My exhaust came today, and so far as I know no one has reviewed it yet. I bought it about a week after it came out. This pipe was ~136, including shipping, and toox about 2.5 weeks to arrive (I ordered it on 27 May, received it 14 June).
This is my first exhaust, so take a little pity I can clarify in comments if something I didn't think to comment on is important.
First, the unboxing.
This is as it came from USPS. I wasn't particularly impressed with the packaging, but I expected the box to be much bigger. I bought the new exhaust because I was unhappy with how big the stock can is, but somehow I thought the box would be more substantial - longer maybe. The box is also light; the packing label says 2.7kg, or about 6lbs.
The packaging as found inside the box:
Everything inside the box is taped together. Here it is taken out.
And the bubble wrap cut apart.
The small bubble wrapped item is the clamp.
The next smaller is the connecting pipe.
Which means the largest is the muffler. But wait, isn't there anything else? How does it connect to the bike? Wouldn't they at least give me a decal to put on the bike?
Ah, there they are:
Connecting strap, plus protective sheath:
Mangled decal:
And the muffler proper. It looks like there was some trouble bending the metal around the curved tip:
Inside:
The business end:
The front:
And all laid out:
Compared to stock:
I've had it five minutes. Time to mod it!
Of actual importance: There aren't any instructions. So, eyeballing it it looks like the springs should connect to the metal loops on the pipe and muffler to keep the two together. But, my oem exhaust is welded. Will just spring pressure be enough to keep it on? The muffle and pipe do fit quite snugly.
The sound clip and comparison to stock, along with pics on the bike, will come soon: Maybe within the next week.
Edit: Now including video.

Hey F3:
Thanks for the heads up!
I'm going to leave the polished bits on the muffler they way they are, but I'm painting the clamp and the connecting pipe red. Pics later today in my mod thread. I thought about sanding and polishing the polished bits to make them shiny but ... nah.
I'm going to leave the exhaust as it came to start with. It's already considerably shorter than stock, and I'd rather have the noise reduction from a full exhaust. If I get tired of it later ... maybe. But no plans just now.

Cool, thanks for the info. I have been consiering replacing my shorty Yoshi for a while now. If i do, I will either get the Delkevic or this can. Either way everything will get painted black, I am trying to eliminate all chrome/silver from my bike and that big ugly chrome Yoshi just doesn't jive!
