Default armored hoody?

anyone seen these before? any review?

i ride my bike to school and work(each within 10-15 miles) and its not really practical for me to wear my jacket there. im hoping something like this could be a practical replacement for short trips(no highway riding either way, about 45-55 tops)

Shoulder and elbow pads bit what if you come off the bike. Will it not rip and tear just like regular clothing? A bike jacket is made to withstand coming down on pavement

Gimmick. Like Ls1 said the hoodie would shred on contact with the pavement, leaving the armor 200' behind your body.

They do make summer jackets that aren't as heavy or thick

Consideing most crashes occur within that range id say thats silly. I ride 4 miles to work and wear my jacket all the time.

45-55 will hurt like hell in a crash as well. I recently had a lay down about 2 miles from my house at 15-20mph and my knee got ugly fast. Get a good mesh/textile jacket with built in armor. If you dont wanna carry it/wear it all day go to Home depot and buy 5-6ft of coated steel cable and a lock. You clamp the ends close to make a loop and then you can run it through your gear and through your bike so people cant eff with it. Thats what i do.
