Default Long Time no see!

Hey guys, been a long time since I have been on here. Last Honda I had was a 96' 900RR. Well, I am back, but it wont be my bike that I will be getting info for. My Girlfriend is about to buy her first motorcycle. She has decided to go with the 2017 CBR 300R. I have done some research and it seams like a very good starter bike, she is a small lady. Does anyone here have any experience with the 300r?

Only a little. Friend of a friend has a 2016 model. We traded on a short ride, and it felt nice. Predictable power delivery, low seat height, simply easy to ride. My only complaints are a lack of power (not an issue for a beginner, and I'm used to 600 & up bikes, so this may not be a fair criticism), and at freeway speeds that motor is screaming at nearly 8K. So, a freeway cruiser it is not.

Brakes are more than adequate, but this bike did not have the ABS option. For a beginner, it's worth the extra cash.

You've probably already found this, but I'll post the link anyway: https://www.cycleworld.com/2015/05/1...specifications

If I personally was in the market, I'd lean towards the Yamaha based on looks and price, but Honda has the best build quality and historically the most bulletproof motors, so if the low output of the motor isn't a drawback (and it shouldn't be for your SO), then you/she won't be disappointed.
