Default Is a CBR 250 too small for me?

Im coming up old enough to get my ls for bikes. Ive been looking at the CBR 250 range, and the Kawasaki ZXR 250s.

The problem is, im 6' and weigh 90kgs...are these 2 bikes too small for me?

Also i will be buying second hand but dont have any experience with these bikes, (only ones ive riden are KLR 250 and posty bike )

How much is a good amount of Ks? and is there any tech faults that happen with these bikes? like say, chains wear out way too fast for ex.

Thanks in advance

Hey, you are about the same body mass as myself.

The cbr250r/rr will be fine for you I have the rr mc22 model.. Great fun..

I get around 280km then have to go to reserve then i get to 300 before it's all dried up.

I have only had 1 fault in 14,000km's it was a faulty spark plug, Chain hasn't worn to much although i lube it every week and clean the chain once a month.

All you have to do is look after it they are a strong bike.

You get 280!? Wow, I only get to about 200 on my mc22 and she is empty. Maybe I'm riding it too hard or something?

The smaller 200's - 250's are defiantly the way to go when starting out! I had a little Ninja 250 and learned lots of thing on it like what to do & what not to do. The nice things about the smaller bikes, they are way way way more forgiving. As far as the tech stuff goes, i know the Ninja 250 is very dependable popular where i live and you can get parts everywhere and for almost no money.. But as long as you treat it good and don't do stunts on it you'll be fine. Save the stunts for the bigger bikes... Good luck & be safe out there on your 2 wheels! Another quick thing, don't try to hot-rod a smaller bike.. don't act like the bigger bikes (500cc+) because you'll just hurt the bike and maybe yourself since you're just starting. But you'll do fine! I just bought a '95 600 F3 and i can defiantly see how learning on the smaller bikes helped
