Default 2011 CBR125R 6th gear

I am new to riding, been at it about a week now, so please be patient with me. I purchased a new CBR125R 2011 with 4km on it.

My problem is that everything I have read says this bike has six gears and reaches an approximate top speed of 120kmph. I took it on the highway for the first time, and I believe I was only able to get it into 5th gear, and with the throttle all the way open my top speed was 104kmph.

Does this bike have six gears (thats including neutral) or should I be able to shift through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. If it does in fact have a sixth gear, what would prevent me from being able to get into it. All of my other gearsm including neutral seem to shift easily, although my clutch level does need to be almost all the way out before the transmission engages.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

specs indicate 6 gears, and neutral is not a gear. is it possible you're starting out in 2nd?

+1

Are you pushing down or clicking up into first gear?

Thanks for replying.

When I start out I am clicking down into 1st, then I shift up through neutral to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. It just doesn't want to go any higher then that.
