yzf 750 project
ok had this about 5 years now , started pulling it apart straight away as I didn't like it as a fighter see pic , only paid £600 for it so was a cheap project , all run good apart from slipping clutch , started to put a r6 fairing on but was a little to small so sold all that and put the bike in the garage and it sat there till about 4 months ago , so restarted building it back up , ive fitted a r1 fairing now and a 04 zxr6r seat unit , I have rebuilt the forks as they were leaking , fitted another set of carbs as they are fitted with stage 1 dyno jet kit , k&n panel filter , high level r6 exhaust red line in make ive never heard of them but only paid £90 the the full system and its in good condition don't need the headders but may find a use for them , its had a service it runs but only on choke so will have to set the carbs up , most left to do now is cosmetic all panel are sprayed just a couple to clear coat , need to get the ss182 copy speedo wired , spray the rear wheel , new tyres , brake pads all round then I think its ready to use , did want it for this summer but its over now so will be ready to play next year , might get a couple of days this year but no point rushing now ,

yeah have thought about it would be nice the extra power but you lose the six speed gear box , other way round it is fit the liners and pistons from the 1000 which takes the 750 up to 850 and it gains good bit of mid range , so might go that route if I find I need a bit more grunt , in its day this was a quick bike but would think now it would be out powered by a 600
Im pretty sure the mid 90s 750s had about 100-105 hp. So yes, a 600 from mid 2000's have as much hp and less weight. When Suzuki came out with the 750 SRAD everything else is its class was left behind, and even some bigger bikes not in its class, like the CBR 900.
