Spent today building the pan for under the seat and several scrapped ideas on building the seat. Think I got it nailed down on how to build it. Got one more day off before work so maybe I can sit on a real seat so I can start to brainstorm on foot controls.

Still no seat. 2 plans today that got tossed back into scap and spare parts. Work next 2 days. Maybe a new plan will come to me durring 2 12hr nite shifts as I go to work for a couple days. Got the fender partially mounted. I've built parts for bikes before, but this bike has been part after part... and more parts to be hand made. The frame was jusst the start of the work.

Since the whole point of this build is to build a custom bike for under $500 I went diving into my scrap, spare parts I refuse to toss and garbage...

After a couple days of figuring it out I had to finish the battery box before I got the seat all built. Have to finalize the cover for the seat and keep going on what ever hits me next...

Did'nt get a chance to finish the seat up due to half my day spent helping my old man out on his water well rig. Crazy bastard had knee surgery last week and he has been out roughnecking since Sunday. I DID get the tripple tree figured out. The KZ305 stem fit perfect in the lower tree of the FT500 I'm using. Lower is welded to the stem and now I have to get the upper reammed out a bit to fit.

Seat's done. Just set together placesd aside till I start shooting paint. Think I have a free full day tomorrow to see what else I get built. The it's gonna be a while till I can work on it again. Gotta head to FT Bragg later this week for a few days.

I was able to cut out several braces for the frame today. Was able to tack on about half of them. My crap 110v welders are no longer gonna cut it. To add insult to injury, back to work tomorrow 12hr midnite shifts till thursday am. Them gotta load up the cage and off to FT Bragg. Back just in time to go back to work. This thing is gonna sit unfinished for over a week. Stuff like this drives me nuts.

Have you welded something and rode on it yet?

I don't mean to sound like a d!ck at all, but those welds look seriously sketchy. Are you stick welding it?

A crap 110v flux core MIG. I hate it. Your not a dick. They suck. The entire frame is going to be loaded in the truck and off to my dad's place. He has a well drilling company and alot better gear than me. I just plan to get it in one peice & straight and burn it all together strong with me better gear at his place.

Okey dokey. I was hoping you wouldn't take that as a malicious statement.

FWIW, I have a Hobart Handler 187 setup and I love it. It's done all of my motorcycle fabrication and a back half z frame on a Chevy stepside without skipping a beat. I know you said you're unemployed, but if you're going to continue building (which it seems like you will) when you get a job buy yourself a present...and get a proper welder. Your skills will only get better with one.

Good luck on the build!!!
