Hi All, just had my 600fk out this weekend around 85 miles its only 2nd ride out since rebuild. I met a group of people near the Humber Bridge and went on a ride around Lincolnshire with a group of like minded souls to a place called Willingham woods Market Rasen LN8 3RQ. I hadn't been there before it seemed to take ages getting there as the roads are so long and open with just the occasional interruption of the odd s bend or corner but the riding was sublime a warm dry night and not too many cars around. The location is apparently a regular bikers meeting place and there was every bike there you could think of in there thousands or at least higher hundreds I'll definitely be going back there was a small kiosk with food and drink too. just the end of the meet
The Bike ran great (RWB 4th from right in pic ) and was every bit as predictable as I had expected but I realized I need to get some miles in and up my skillset a bit as on one unexpected s bend I nearly stood the bike up mid bend due to error and it's been a while since I was on a sports bike everything comes at you that bit quicker lol, I'm also consciously trying to counter steer after watching You tube videos on the subject I wasn't sure if riding all my life I haven't just been throwing the bike over into corners and hanging on !
I was told by the guy mot testing her that carb balancing was needed and to be fair the idle running isn't perfect so at some point soon I'll do them.
I got the bike home and noticed a horrible growl noise on the front brakes and as the disk's were badly corroded I had effectively used a set of new pads to grind them smooth again and ended up metal on metal, so today I fitted another new set but to be fair bits are so cheap for these older bikes it gets what it needs.
I enjoyed my second ride out and look forward to more I hope this great weather continues, safe biking everyone, AL.

Awesome pic and nice to hear the bike is up and running well!
One of the skills I've found most helpful (and most easily forgotten) is looking through the corner. Being able to do that magically makes the corner "open up" and easier, i.e. less panic inducing , to go through at speed. It can be tough because when you have that feeling of "Oh, ****, going a bit too fast here!" the last thing your instincts want to do is look further ahead.
I try to practice in empty lots at lower speeds but have definitely plateaued with my lean angle "comfortability". I know I need to just push through but without any feedback or view of how much I'm actually leaning off/leaning the bike over, it's hard to reconcile my perception (I'm sooo low!) vs. reality (um, no, no you are not!).
Great pics, bit like Devils Bridge up my way, fantastic to see people out and about.
On the skills front I have just started a ROSPA advanced riding course (run over 6 weekends) which is really good value and is based upon the police Motorcycle Roadcraft Handbook.
