They are great little bikes - my son had the "gull arm" model - pulled like a train and revved like a demented cicada beetle
Top speed is around 130MPH + believe it or not.
Spares in the US won't be easy to find - to my knowledge they were not imported into the US by Honda so any that show up are "grey imports. Honda US don't keep spares. $2500 seems a bit steep for that reason.
The biggest issue with the 400RR is maintenance - they need it to be done PROPERLY.
If both bikes run, OK, if not I wouldn't be too keen.
For that money you can buy 2 CBR1000F's in the US and they will be running, and there are plenty of spares........
Hope this helps.

tbh, the philippines have a LOT of parts for those little bikes. im sure if you needed a distributor or craigslist type deal you could source some parts from there. if the bikes are in great condition (not counting paint or scratches).. are you wanting them just to have or or resale value? in great condition im sure you could squeeze out $1500 each to the right buyers

well guys its not for me, my co worker is planning to buy it.. heres the seller's ad:

88 and 89 CBR400rr Japanese spec - $3000 (anchorage)

No it isn't a typo. This is CBR400rr japanese spec motorcycle, and i'm letting them both go for $3000 O.B.O. (we agree on it, its yours and add is pulled, I don't play the someone else called with a higher offer game). The bike has 20872 kilometers or 12970 miles on it. It's seat hight and weight make it a fun and easy bike to handle and to learn on, this is the bike my wife learned to ride with. As it has moved from here to there a couple times and being a little older it's a little rough around the edges but still a good looking bike. It's been kept in the garage especially here in alaska and does get periodically ran durring the winter. It will need a new battery though. I did say 88 & 89, there is a second bike that is stripped down completely although I do not have fairings or the front forks or front wheel for it. Both bike and spare frame are registered. If you'd like to have two running bikes just assemble the other one with early cbr600 front parts.

If you'd like more info just email or call 907-602-**** and ask for steve

...the japanese spec part has me curious, but i think 3 grand is a bit much for a cbr400(RR?) thats been thru some rough times. yeah youre getting a frame that IS registered but.. when you go to get current registration after building it back up youre looking to throw another $300 on top for the $3000 purchase price.

tough decision bro.. any pix?
