I Test Rode the Buell 1125R today
You have got to be a rep for Buell cause some of the stuff you are saying is outlandish. There is no way your lifting the front tire doing 55mph in fourth just by rolling on the throttle. Also comparing this bike to an R1 is just nuts. A 5yr old maybe even older 600 will wipe the floor with the 1125r all day long. I happen to own an RC51 (its for sale by the way hint hint) and its a much easier and better bike to ride. The buell is designed to be a "sport bike" and the 51 was designed to be a "race bike for the street" if I plan on carving corners the 51 is the obvious choice.
No, I am not a rep for Buell! I actually just got rid of my "older 600" with intent of getting a 929 or 954 next year. I have over 10,000 miles on my F3 and the 1125R would SMOKE my F3 in every aspect. I rode my buddies F4i for MANY miles and the 1125R will out perform that bike with ease. I don't know if you watch AMA at all, but the Buell 1125R has competed very will in the 600cc class and the local 1125R dominated the 600cc class so much that they bumped it up a class. Keep in mind that this is the first year this bike has come out! I can't wait to see what they have in store fore future models of this bike!
The 1125R that I rode will easy float the front end by pinning the throttle in 4th gear. With the slip of a clutch, that front end will come up instantly!! I know it is hard, but give credit wear credit is due. This is one BAD bike and it is only going to get better in years to come!!

I applauded Erik Buell's innovation, creativity, & business sense...BUT, there's a reason the bikes aren't more mainstream. That is, they are maintenance-heavy, support-lacking, & not necessarily purpose-specific.
I don't think Harley dealers had much of a clue what to do with them. The local dealer made zero effort to sell Buells. Didn't ever have any in the showroom except for a single Blast . . . even though their riding school used Blasts and they could've sold a ton of them.
