Default zx9

so my friends uncles is selling a 2000 zx9 It has no fairings or title i guess he cant get the title from the previous owner because he is jail. he wants 300 for the bike and the only problem is it needs a case cover b/c it is cracked from being dropped theres also a small dent in the frame. My friend an i were considering buying it an fixin the cover an a few other cheap fixes then sellin it. anyone thinks this is a good investment i figured it would be good for somone who wants a bike to stunt. let me know what you think thanks, Dan

Personally I'd never buy a bike without a title. Some states make getting a title easier than others.

If its a track bike or stunter that wont be ridden on the roads, you might find a buyer. For that money you might make decent $$$ parting it out.

As a rider, I wouldn't buy a bike with a dent in the frame except from a dealer I trusted. Since I don't trust dealers, I wouldn't buy a bike with a dent in the frame.

Parts are another story. If the bike's in good condition, you should get more than $300 in parts

I WOULDN'T GO NEAR IT, NOT EVEN FOR PARTS.
No title, no touchy is a good rule to follow. Dent in frame a definite NO-NO.
Previous owner (in jail) - what for ? Bike theft ?
There's no such thing as a good cheap bike, believe me.
I've seen too many young keen guys get caught this way.

^^^ agreed, yet if it is a good friends family then perhaps it is worth it. considering you have to either have:

A) money you can sit on while you wait for people to buy parts and i dont know the market for those bikes. im a honda guy

B) mechanical sense if you plan to fix it. Not saying its a big deal...but you should know how to use a wrench etc.

C) a place to ride it. That means a van/trailer/truck to transport also...

D) Charisma, cause to sell a beat up bike like that your going to need to find someone stupid.

E) disregard A, B, and C. Get it fixed and ride like a bat out of hell

i buy and sell bikes, and i can tell you yes it is tempting BUT, i wouldnt touch it. yet im just doing me....but i can say ive been screwed before too so GL
