Default yea i know this is a cbr forum but..

i will/want to buy a suzuki dr650seand ride it home from anchorage, ak to columbia, sc
i'll fly up there, buy it, put all my stuff on it, and then ride home.
do youse guys, think this motorcycle could make the trip?

I'm fairly sure its already snowing in British Columbia... It would bee insanely slippery going through canada

WOw that is gona be one HELL of a ride. Dont know much about the SV but it should be up for the challenge.

I think you will also need 10k in travelers checks to drive thru Canada. The canooks want to make sure you make it thru and not stay in their country.

their is no fing way a motorcycle would last that long. You'd be gone for about a week on the road if you ride everyday. I'm sure you;ll need to put brand new tires on them before you start. 6.5k miles? I'm sure you'll need to buy new ones when you get home. You plan on carrying some chain lube with you and lubing it everyday? I'm sure there will be parts where there will be no gas station for a couple hundred miles. No way you'll be able to hold enough gas.

I don't like the look of that seat for that many miles, but other than that, bring a full Ipod and a way to charge it, maybe even XM.

My wife's uncle just did a round trip from socal to barrow AK last year and back on his KTM. I think it was a 950 or somthing like that. A dual sport as well. He had to change tires and a chain during the trip.
